Noel Nason
Born 1949 in Hainesville N.B., Noel got his musical talents from his Dad who played organ in church and got his inspiration for country music from his Mom. He started singing at school Christmas concerts at age 10 and bought his first guitar at age 17. He started playing in a band called “The Living End” in 1972. His first gig was at the Milleville Legion to fill in for Aubrey Hanson. As years went by he met up with Kevin and Tom who invited him to join the band “Midnight Special”. One of the special moments in his life was to jam with Stompin' Tom Connors at Sleepy Hollow. Noel tells me that Stompin’ Tom’s wife asked if he wrote any songs. Noel’s reply was that “I have tried but all my songs end up in the garbage”. Stompin’ Tom jokingly replied “All my garbage ends up in songs”. Noel currently has his first cd out called “Just Gettin' Started”……a collection of old country favorites. He continues to play at his own gigs and various shows around the province of New Brunswick including “Noel Nason and Cora Morrison with friends Ralph McMannis and Bart Stone” and also “Noel Nason and the Memory Makers” at the Fredericton Legion. |
