Allison Inch – Fiddle

Al was born in 1937 in New Jerusalem N.B. in the CFB Gagetown area. His father and mother both played fiddle and his mother also played the organ in church.
Al started playing at age 7 and since then has played with numerous bands, variety shows and benefits and has been with the New Brunswick Country Showcase Band since approximately 1987. During his high school years Al joined up with Art Marr and played in that band for 25 years.
He has recorded with Mathew Hayes, Garth Jones, Ned Landry, Ivan Hicks, Dwane Drost, Gary and Gene Morris, Hazel Marie Robertson and has done TV appearances with George Hector and The Maritime Farmers. He has also been a regular with The Saint John Old Time Fiddlers. Around 2002 Al took a few months and toured across Canada with Ivan Hicks. He has played in Upstate New York for the North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame and has also done some playing as far away as Florida. In 1992 he was inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame along with Matilda Murdock, Royal Hicks, Vance Patterson and Joan Kennedy.
He currently has 2 of his own CD's called "Fiddling Country Style" and "Maritime Fiddling". Al also writes some of his own music including "Ned Landry Special", "Pattie’s Hornpipe" and "Guila's Hornpipe". A very experienced instructor he also teaches fiddle at Morris Music in Saint John and has approximately 25 students. As well as the New Brunswick Country Showcase Band, Al plays with Reg Gallant and the Port City Jamboree and Gary Morris's Valley Jamboree.
